PRTR Learn

To assist countries around the world in the design and the implementation of national Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTRs) and support the Protocol on PRTRs to the Aarhus Convention, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has developed PRTR Learn, an online resource, which is open to all countries.

The main objectives of  PRTR Learn are to:

  • Facilitate and support the exchange of information for the development of national PRTR systems;
  • Allow countries to access individuals and organizations with experience and knowledge on PRTRs;
  • Create a virtual environment to support PRTR capacity building by using modern technology.
